Along with all of the class changes coming in the Legion pre-expansion patch, there are updates to the glyph system:
- Major Glyphs are removed.
- New cosmetic glyphs have been added.
- There is no limit on cosmetic glyphs, besides the rule that only one cosmetic glyph can be active on a spell at once.
- The glyph UI is gone; you simply apply the glyph directly to the spell.
We’ve made a series of videos below previewing all of the cosmetic glyphs for each class in Legion, including Demon Hunters.
In addition, we’ve published the Legion Inscription Guide. With the removal of major glyphs, scribes have some new things to craft such as Vantus Runes which boost your versatility against a certain boss for a week, Steamy Romance Novel toys, and new Darkmoon Faire Cards.
There are also many new questlines in Legion tied to learning recipes, including some Demon Hunter glyphs. In addition to new recipes from quests, each recipe has three ranks, which allow you to craft items with fewer reagents over time.
Toys and Class Books
Some removed glyphs with interesting effects are now toys, which can be acquired in the pre patch. Some other glyphs have been turned into books that grant you an ability when learned. Death Knight
